This is completely bad ass... I love mash ups and this is truly interesting. Usually, when someone does a mash up, they simply merge the recordings of two or more songs by sampling and overdubbing. This group, Rock Sugar, has gone about it a whole new way. These guys are actually playing two songs intermingled. There is an entire album of these songs out there, but for some reason their site store is having issues. Until you can grab it yourself, check it out on YouTube!

Supergroups... some people love 'em, others hate 'em. Sammy Hagar (Age 62... SIXTYFRICKINTWO DAMMIT!) is a huge fan of them (H.S.A.S., Van Hagar) and has formed another one with his buddy Michael Anthony (Age 56, from Van Halen). This group is called CHICKENFOOT and they bring good ole Rock & Roll back HARD. Also in the band is Joe Satriani (Age 54, Guitar God) and Chad Smith (Age 48, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer).

Keeping with the 80's thing, I tried to think of someone hot... or at least hot back then. First one that came to mind was VIXEN. I actually saw them in concert in Nashville back in 88 or 89, not sure which summer, but it was at Starwood Ampitheater on a big ass bill with Greg Allman, Richard Marx, Jethro Tull and Johnny Cash (it was a rather eclectic mix of musicians) to name a few. Hell of a party.

It Was 29 Years Ago Today...
MTV was born 29 effing years ago today. Now granted, back in those days, the "M" stood for MUSIC, not MEDIOCRE programming. But still, it revolutionized television, music and entertainment industries on a whole scale level. Seriously, think about it. Michael Jackson's Thriller, The Headbanger's Ball, Downtown Julie Brown, Mark Goodman, Nina Blackwood, Alan Hunter, Adam Curry (he of the incredible Bon Jovi Tribute Hair) and so many other iconic figures.
