So, that happened...
Colts get to play the Saints in the Superbowl in two weeks. Not sure if that was what I wanted to see, but not like I have any real choice in the matter.
In the AFC Championship, the NY Jets actually were tearing the Colts up. At one point being up 14-6! The Jet Defense was really frustrating Peyton Manning and Mark Sanchez showed why he was the #5 pick in this years draft. Then Manning woke up. The second half completely belonged to the Colts. The Jets pretty much should have just stayed in the locker room. Could have saved some bruises.
In the nightcap, the Saints pulled off an overtime victory on the foot of their kicker (yes, he has a name, no it really isn't that important). This was a true slugfest from the opening drives (each resulting in touchdowns). Brett Favre was absolutely beaten up in this game. I am fairly sure that his body is today as purple as his home uniform from all the bruising. Personally, if the Vikings had played clean, without the 95165467 fumbles from Peterson, or the two interceptions from Favre, I have NO doubt the Vikings would have eviscerated the Saints. But, that is why they play the game.
I seriously do not see how the Superbowl could be as exciting as the NFC Championship was. But, it should be fun. Two incredibly high octane offenses facing off. Should be fun. Hopefully I will get to post a few articles prior to then, including a pick. Until then, let me know what you think!
