I love mash ups and this is truly interesting. Usually, when someone does a mash up, they simply merge the recordings of two or more songs by sampling and overdubbing. This group, Rock Sugar, has gone about it a whole new way. These guys are actually playing two songs intermingled. So, I decided to make some Jambalaya for dinner. No big production, just a box mix from <a href="http://zatarains.com/">Zatarains</a> that has brown rice and you add your own chicken, sausage or whatever. I have had great success with this product and absolutely recommend it to anyone who asks my opinion. Anyway, I didn't have any regular anduille sausage or spicy sausage. Nope, I managed to pick up a 2 1/2 pound package of Jalapeno &amp; Cheese sausages at the store. I figured, what the hell, might as well use that. Should just add some extra zip to it is all. WRONGFRIGGINGWRONG! I do believe I melted down the top layer of skin from the top of my tongue. My nostril hairs curled up. I also think that I may have permanently cleared any potential sinus clogs for the near future (read: decades). That Shit Was HOT! I took maybe, MAYBE two bites before the sweat appeared. Now, I am not afraid of some seasoning to my foods. I have traveled across continents and oceans. I love to try new foods. Brings out the best in society. Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the first round of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, MO. Now, those who are not familiar with downtown Kansas City have probably not heard about the Kansas City Power &amp; Light District. This is a section of land donated by Kansas City Power &amp; Light to create a majestic entertainment district downtown, right across from the Sprint Center. Power &amp; Light is a haven of bars and eateries with a courtyard that has access to all these establishments from a covered, and heated, yet open air courtyard. LOVE this thing. It has a monster screen on the wall for viewing big games, the bars all serve beverages from kiosks, etc.<br /><br />Anyway, when not at the Sprint Center watching basketball, everyone congregated in the courtyard at Power &amp; Light. There were contests, cheerleaders, bands, beer and beef jerky. Yep. Beef Jerky. People were walking around handing out tons of flipping beef jerky. I admit that I had two sticks myself. Quite tasty for a mystery meat substance that listed itself as beefsteak and cheddar. But, not worth what I saw after my consumption.<br /><br />I present... The ratings would have justified bumping the excitment of frigging ICE DANCING. Seriously... Ice Dancing over the Hockey Game of these olympic games? There better be a moving van ready for the genius who made that call. </p><p>The game itself was one of the most exciting, exhausting games I have ever seen (barring the 1980 Miracle On Ice). It had everything - great power plays, penalty killing excellence, amazing shots that can only be made by the greatest players in the world, speed, power, fantastic hits, passing... simply a clinic.</p><p>Let's just hope they follow up with a Gold to finish the tournament!
